“Tüm
Formlarıyla Fotoğraf”
Debra Hess
Norris ve Nora Kennedy, Tayfun Serttaş’ın katılımıyla geleneksel fotoğrafçılığın
yanı sıra fotoğrafta koruma ve sergilemeye ilişkin güncel sorun ve tartışmaları
irdeleyecekler. Konular, “Koleksiyoncu ve küratörler neyin farkında olmalılar?”,
“Eser ve koleksiyonların gelecek nesillere aktarımı nasıl güvence altına alınır?”
ve “Güncel görsellerin müze ortamında sergilenmesinde karşılaşılan sorunlar
nelerdir?” gibi başlıkları içerecek. Konuşmacıların kısa sunumlarının ardından,
katılımcıların özellikle Türkiye fotoğraf tarihi bağlamında soru ve görüşleri
tartışmaya açılacak.
Konuşma
dili İngilizce ve Türkçe’dir. Her iki dile simultane çeviri yapılacaktır.
Debra Hess
Norris: University of Delaware’de sanat ve fotoğraf koruma alanında öğretim üyesi.
Nora
Kennedy: Metropolitan Museum of Art’ta (New York) Sherman Fairchild fotoğraf
konservatörü.
Tayfun
Serttaş: Sanatçı, yazar ve "Stüdyo Osep" (2009) ile "Foto
Galatasaray" (2011) projelerinin araştırmacısı.
Bu etkinlik,
Arab Image Foundation, University of Delaware, Metropolitan Museum of Art ve
Getty Conservation Institute tarafından ortaklaşa yürütülen Middle East
Photograph Preservation Initiative (MEPPI) tarafından gerçekleştirilmektedir.

“Photography
in All its Forms”
Debra Hess
Norris and Nora Kennedy will be joined by Tayfun Serttaş to explore traditional
photography and the challenges faced in the preservation and display of
photographs.
What
should collectors and conservators be aware of? How can one ensure these works
will be passed along to future generations? What are some of the issues involved
in showing contemporary images in museum settings?
The
speakers will then open the floor for questions and contributions from audience
members, ideally linking back to the local history of photography in Turkey.
The talks
will be held in English and Turkish, with simultaneous translation into Turkish
and English respectively.
Debra Hess
Norris: Chair of the Art Conservation Department and Professor of Photograph
Conservation at the University of Delaware.
Nora Kennedy:
Sherman Fairchild Conservator of Photographs at The Metropolitan Museum of Art
in New York City.
Tayfun
Serttaş: Artist, writer and researcher of the projects "Studio Osep"
(2009) and "Foto Galatasaray" (2011).
