"... In a strange coincidence, a guest at the opening of the exhibition in October, Gülnur Düzyol recognized herself in one of the photographs comprising this piece. First recalling the shoes and the dress she was wearing on this day as a young girl in Turkey, she looked more closely at the image and realized it was in fact her captured on her birthday over 50 years ago.
Like with a butterfly effect, a month later, Varvara Basmadjian came to visit the exhibition and strangely recognised herself as a young girl in one of the photographs as well. These serendipitous discoveries could not be more pertinent for an exhibition which transports us not only through physical travel but also through time and history..."
